Attention! The modem and the satellite dish are not included in delivery set!
Kroks KSS-Pot-e represents a 9 dB MIMO feed antenna in a sealed box that houses an mPCI modem. KSS-Pot-e can be used as an independent antenna, placing it on a pipe or windowsill, and as a satellite dish irradiator. As part of a satellite dish, the overall gain of the system increases many times and ranges from 23 to 34 dB, depending on the diameter of the parabolic dish.
The antenna's housing has an IP64 protection degree. This guarantees reliable protection of the modem from external precipitation, dust and moisture.
The modem communicates with a computer or router via a 10 meter USB cable with a USB connector at the end. Antenna’s operating frequency range is from 1700 to 2700 MHz (LTE1800, UMTS2100, LTE2600). The MIMO technology supported by the irradiator over the entire frequency range doubles the channel capacity.
The presence of a voltage stabilizer in the circuit provides compensation for voltage losses in the cable and maintains the nominal supply voltage for reliable operation of the 3G / 4G modem. The possibility of placing the mPCI modem in the same housing with the irradiator unit minimizes cable losses, which has a positive effect on the quality of the transmitted signal. This kit is ideal for use in an apartment or in a country house.
Supported modem models:
- Huawei ME909s (LTE cat.4)
- Quectel EC25 (LTE cat.4)
- Quectel EP06-E (LTE cat.6)
The delivery set includes several types of fastening, allowing the antenna to be used both as part of a parabolic satellite dish, and as a separate stand-alone antenna with 9 dB gain.
Mount types:
- in an offset (satellite) dish (the offset dish itself is not included in the delivery set);
- on the mast;
- on the wall;
- on the table or windowsill.
Advantages of this kit:
- low price of the finished solution;
- built-in voltage stabilizer to compensate for cable losses;
- easy installation: to mount the device, it is necessary to pave only one cable - twisted pair;
- the possibility of using the irradiator both as a complete set with a satellite dish and as an independent antenna.
Installation of the irradiator in a satellite dish.
Clamp the irradiator in a dish holder. Most of 4G internet operators use X-polarized radio signals. To find out what is the signal polarization of your 4G operator, you need to try to rotate the irradiator in the holder by 45 ° and look at the signal level readings in the computer program. The wrong choice of polarization, drops the signal level by 30 dB or even more.
Direct your dish to the tower. To do this, the arc from the dish to the irradiator must be directed exactly to the operator's 4G tower. It may seem that the dish is "looking" into the ground. In fact, it receives a signal from the direction in which the arc is directed, which is holding the irradiator. If the tower is far away, the arc will be roughly parallel to the ground.
The dependence of the gain from dish diameter(data are approximate).The larger diameter, the higher coefficient.
Diameter of the dish, m | 0,5 | 0,6 | 0,8 | 0,9 | 1,2 |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Gain, dB | 23 | 25 | 27 | 29 | 34 |
The own antenna's gain coefficient (without a dish) is a 8-9 dB.
Note that any obstruction between the operator's tower and your irradiator will attenuate the signal. It can be trees, houses, structures, uneven terrain.
Therefore, choose a place for installing the dish so that there is, if possible, a direct line of sight to the tower.
